it would be great to have the opportunity to update the VMware Tools of Multiple VMs with one click. Maybe its possible to set a Menu for "VMWare Tools" and there you can select the Virtual Machines with ToolsStatus "ToolsOld" and "toolsNotInstalled" and then say -> Action "Update Tools". There is a tool on the market "RVTools" which already can update multiple VMWare Tools but it would be great if this function will be in the VESI!

VMan,

This is on the roadmap not for the initial list, but for the second release. We plan on introducing this feature in a way that gives the user the choice to do the upgrade with or without a reboot. There are some nuances and inconsistencies in the "Without Reboot" calls that we are still playing around with. There is a chance that after the initial release that we can also show people how to customize this action into their interface with a few lines of code.

You can search for all VMs with a tools status of old by highlighting all VMs and clicking to view the Summary details. This includes tools version and status and can be filtered on.

Hey Scott,

Any idea if this functionality is any closer?  Would be great to have VESI upgrade VMware Tools, and also install and enable VSS in each VM.

Cheers,

Hi All,

Just wondering has this surfaced yet? This would be great... one push to all VM's instead of each individual.

Let me know if this has been done and where can i get it?

Thanks All,
Have a GREAT weekend, and for you NY'kers have fun in the SNOW!
